Discover the World of Guzheng with China’s Spirit Music Ensemble!

Since 2003, China’s Spirit Music Ensemble (CSME) has nurtured generations of American guzheng students and inspired a new generation of teachers.

Join us in Alameda for our fall recital, featuring students from San Francisco and the East Bay. Whether you’re curious about the guzheng or interested in learning more about Chinese music, this is an opportunity to experience the instrument up close, see students at different stages of their musical journey, and discover the dedication, teaching, and community behind their growth.

Meet our teachers, Gloria Lau, Cameron Yeong-Jang, and director Winnie Wong, and experience the joy of learning and making music together.
